I'm back! I spent the past few days at the family farm with the boys and the dogs to celebrate Independence Day. Of course, given that July 4th falls on a Monday and I need to be working first thing Tuesday evening, it was necessary for us to do our celebrating on the 2nd and the 3rd.
The boys and Grandma and I spent most of yesterday evening gathering materials needed to create a bonfire. Once the bonfire was created, we made up way too many s'mores.
The boys then played around with sparklers, smoke bombs, and black snakes once the daylight dimmed.
We then were pleasantly surprised to discover that we could see firework displays from three different faraway communities. Well... we could see the essence of fireworks displays from two different communities, but we had a great view of one particular community's fireworks last night!
Anyway, the country is 240-years-old. And we commemorated that birthday with some fun family time.
Happy July 4th!
