But it also features an original short story that introduces readers to a brand-new character named Dede! She has taken over Riverdale's local comic book shop.
Did I mention that she is attractive? Well, she is.
Archie spends most of this story trying to impress the girlfriend, but she only has eyes for one Riverdale pal: Jughead!
Of course, Jughead doesn't even notice Dede.
I wonder if this is the first broken love triangles featuring Archie, Jughead, and some girl. I'm sure it's not, but I cannot think of this happening before. It's still humorous to watch.
Meanwhile, we also get introduced to Dede's pet dog, Cosmo. He doesn't like Archie at all. But look at that collar!
I know that they are going to be relaunching Archie and all of the Riverdale regulars, but I really liked Dede. It seems cruel to introduce us to Dede and then yank her away into comic book oblivion 1-2 months later. I would love to see a series of short stories featuring Dede & Cosmo. We could see some romantic misadventures, but we could also see some comical stories set in her comic book shop and at nearby conventions complete with cameo appearances of current Archie Comics/Dark Circle titles.
